On Saturday September 30th, at the company headquarters in via Ungaretti, we celebrated an important milestone together with employees, suppliers, customers and families: our 120th anniversary!
The history of Prodotti EBI began in 1903, when it was founded by Edoardo Butti with the denomination “Edoardo Butti lattoniere ed idraulico”. Initially, the company was based in via Ramazzotti and produced small-scale sheet metal processing. Edward’s son, Bruno, at only 13 entered the company to work as an apprentice and gain experience in the sector; a choice that proved fundamental when his father died and Bruno became the head of the company. At this point Bruno and his brother Guido became the owners of the company but, when Guido passed away, Bruno found himself alone again to lead the reality that – until that moment – had been the image of the work of the whole family. The company was renamed “Ebi di Bruno Butti” and in 1963 was moved to the new headquarters to expand and respond to the needs of the market and the increasingly demands of customers. From January 1st 1974 the company name became “Ebi di Bruno Butti & C. sas” because Bruno’s son-in-law, Abramo Malnati, who collaborated as administrator, also joined the company. Today the family history continues: his son Davide Malnati proudly leads the company as General Manager.
At the beginning of our history, Prodotti EBI dealt with gutter works and then specialized in the supply of tin boxes for the biscuit factory Lazzaroni and other historic brands such as Doria and Colussi. In the Seventies we entered the automotive production chain with the stamping and deep drawing and the realization of electric motors with the addition of shelving and metal containers for industrial use. This is the sector in which we become absolute protagonists, exporting more than 30% of our production!
Today, 32 employees work with us: together with them and their families, on 30 September we celebrated the important milestone of 120 years of activity. These are the words of the General Manager Davide Malnati: “The last few years have been complex also because of the pandemic and the crisis of the raw materials, but the activity proceeds well and the balance of this year is certainly positive. I am proud of the achievement together with my boys!”.
And we are extremely happy to have celebrated this anniversary together.
